creatives and contradictions

Dumaguete Series | Pin Cushion
My grandmother, even at her old age, still mends her own clothes probably ruined by the washing machine or a bored and curious dog.
When I think of sewing I think of women, that it’s somehow a household chore for women. (damn sexist!) Afterall, it was part of Home economics for girls while the boys hammer their grades in small-scale carpentry. I just wonder how many of the girls of my generation actually knows how to sew. I know I don’t.
It’s something we trade for the university, the heels and future executive positions.
